Tata Consultancy Services Launches Gemini AI Experience Centre in Michigan with Google Cloud to Boost Smart Manufacturing
Tata Consultancy Services has launched a new Gemini Experience Centre at its innovation hub in Troy in partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption in the manufacturing sector. The facility integrates Google’s Gemini AI models with TCS’s manufacturing and digital engineering expertise to develop “Physical AI” solutions that combine robotics, advanced sensors, edge computing and cloud orchestration for factory environments. The centre will allow manufacturers to test and scale AI-driven applications such as automated quality inspection, equipment monitoring and robotics-based safety systems. It is the seventh Gemini Experience Centre globally and part of a broader plan by TCS and Google Cloud to expand the network to 13 centres worldwide by 2026, supporting the growing use of AI-powered automation and intelligent industrial systems.

India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has launched a new Gemini Experience Centre (GEC) in the United States aimed at accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence in the manufacturing sector. The facility, located at TCS’s innovation hub in Troy, Michigan, has been developed in collaboration with Google Cloud and will focus on developing what the company calls “Physical AI” solutions for industrial environments.
The new centre is the seventh Gemini Experience Centre globally and the second in the United States, reflecting the growing partnership between TCS and Google Cloud to deploy advanced AI technologies in enterprise and industrial applications.
Focus on AI-powered manufacturing
According to TCS, the facility will allow manufacturers to explore, test and scale AI-driven use cases designed to improve operational safety, quality control and efficiency on factory floors. The centre integrates Google’s Gemini AI models with TCS’s domain expertise in manufacturing and digital engineering.
At the core of the centre is the TCS Physical AI Blueprint, an end-to-end framework that combines robotics, advanced sensing technologies, edge computing and secure cloud orchestration. The framework is designed to provide real-time operational insights and enable autonomous decision-making in industrial environments.
Potential applications include automated quality inspection, equipment monitoring, environmental anomaly detection and robotics-based safety monitoring on production lines.
Collaboration with Google Cloud
The initiative is part of TCS’s broader collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate generative and agentic AI technologies into enterprise operations. By leveraging Google’s Gemini models, the centre aims to support manufacturers in developing data-driven and more autonomous industrial systems.
Saurabh Tiwary, Vice President and General Manager for Cloud AI at Google Cloud, said the partnership would help equip manufacturers with AI-powered capabilities to build more resilient and intelligent operations.
Expanding global innovation network
The Troy centre becomes part of TCS’s global innovation ecosystem, which already includes Gemini Experience Centres in Bengaluru, New York, Chennai, Riyadh, Singapore and São Paulo.
TCS and Google Cloud plan to expand this network further, with the companies targeting 13 Gemini Experience Centres worldwide by the end of 2026 as enterprises accelerate adoption of generative AI and automation technologies.
Strategic push into industrial AI
The launch highlights a growing industry shift toward “physical AI,” where artificial intelligence is integrated into real-world systems such as robotics, sensors and industrial infrastructure rather than existing only in software applications.
For TCS, the move strengthens its position in the rapidly evolving market for AI-driven industrial transformation, particularly in sectors such as automotive, electronics and advanced manufacturing that dominate the Midwest region of the United States.
As global manufacturers increasingly look to deploy AI on factory floors, facilities like the Gemini Experience Centre are expected to serve as testing grounds where companies can prototype and deploy next-generation intelligent manufacturing solutions at scale.
