OnePlus Nord 6 Launched With 9,000mAh Battery and 165Hz Display, Targeting Power Users in the Mid-Range Market

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus Nord 6 in India, introducing a mid-range device focused on battery life, high refresh-rate display technology and performance aimed at gamers and heavy smartphone users.

The new handset arrives as the latest addition to the company’s Nord lineup and brings several upgrades over the previous generation, including a significantly larger battery, faster charging and improved display specifications.

Large 9,000mAh Battery Designed for Extended Usage

One of the most notable features of the OnePlus Nord 6 is its 9,000mAh battery, which is considerably larger than the battery capacity typically found in modern smartphones.

Despite the large battery size, the device supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, allowing it to recharge from empty to full in approximately 70 minutes. The smartphone also supports 27W reverse wired charging, enabling it to act as a power source for other devices such as earbuds, smartwatches, or smartphones.

The larger battery is intended to support longer gaming sessions, video streaming and productivity tasks without frequent charging.

High-Refresh-Rate AMOLED Display

The Nord 6 features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display described as a “Sunburst HDR” panel. The screen has a pixel density of 450 pixels per inch (PPI) and a peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits, which is designed to improve visibility even in bright outdoor conditions.

The display supports a 165Hz refresh rate, providing smoother scrolling and enhanced gaming performance compared with traditional 60Hz or 120Hz displays.

Additional display technologies include:

• Touch Reflex chip designed to improve touch response speed
• 3840Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions
• Crystal Guard Glass for durability
• Aqua Touch 2.0, which improves touch response when the screen is wet

Performance Hardware and Gaming Features

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, positioning it among the more powerful devices in the premium mid-range category.

This chipset is designed to support demanding applications such as gaming, video editing and multitasking. Combined with the high-refresh-rate display and the Touch Reflex chip, the hardware configuration aims to deliver smooth gameplay and responsive interactions.

Camera System With AI Enhancements

The OnePlus Nord 6 includes a camera setup centered around a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA-600 sensor. The sensor uses stacked pixel technology, which helps capture more light and improves image quality in low-light environments.

The rear camera also features dual-axis Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) to reduce blur in photos and videos caused by hand movement.

Software-based imaging tools include:

• AI Eraser, which removes unwanted objects from photos
• AI Portrait Glow, which adjusts lighting for portrait shots

For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 32-megapixel front camera, along with HDR processing to improve image clarity and color balance.

Durability and Build

The Nord 6 includes durability upgrades compared with earlier models. The device is rated IP69K for dust and water resistance, indicating strong protection against environmental exposure.

In addition, it carries MIL-STD-810H certification, a standard used to indicate that a device has passed certain military-grade durability tests.

Price and Availability

In India, the OnePlus Nord 6 is available in two configurations:

• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹38,999
• 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹41,999

Availability in other regions has not yet been officially confirmed. Pricing for markets such as the United Arab Emirates has not been announced.

Comparison With the Previous Model

The new device introduces several changes compared with the earlier **OnePlus Nord 5 model.

Key upgrades include:
