Software Development Engineer II, Amazon Payments

Key Job Responsibilities

• Define, design and implement multi-tier distributed software applications.
• Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation and roll out system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability and engineering best practices.
• Independently design, develop and test major software features while collaborating with teammates to deliver large-scale system enhancements.
• Collaborate effectively with multiple cross-functional teams including Software Development, QA, Project Management, Release Management, Build Engineering and Operations.
• Provide on-call production support for critical payment platform applications.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, scalability) new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience across the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and production operations.
