About the Team

Time and Pay Innovation is responsible for workforce management and payroll computation systems that power critical HR processes across Amazon. From onboarding seasonal employees to managing employee data integrations, the team builds secure, reliable, and scalable platforms that improve both employee experience and business efficiency. As Generative AI becomes a strategic priority, you'll help drive the next generation of intelligent enterprise solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team of software engineers.
  • Foster career growth, mentorship, and a strong engineering culture.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and develop technical talent.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize work, and communicate progress.
  • Own operational excellence, software quality, and service health metrics.
  • Lead Agile development processes to deliver incremental customer value.
  • Partner with Product Management to define long-term architecture and product strategy.
  • Drive technology vision and long-term engineering roadmaps.
  • Lead the adoption of Generative AI technologies across products and engineering workflows.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience leading the design and development of multi-tier web services.
  • Strong knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build systems, testing, certification, and production operations.
  • Experience partnering with Product Management or Program Management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience communicating technical designs, product strategy, and software features to customers, engineering teams, and senior leadership.
  • Proven experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineering teams.
